Whether you are skilled in a construction trade or not, we can use your help. We need volunteers to work on our rehab, repair and accessibility projects. We also need volunteers to help in other ways, such as assisting in volunteer recruitment and coordination, assembling materials and tools, working with vendors, providing support to the work crews, fund raising and some clerical assistance in the office. All that is required is that you have a desire to help those in our community who are less fortunate, and that you are willing to dedicate a few hours a month of your time. Our projects are varied in scope, nature and location and our schedule is flexible.

Volunteer Workdays are usually scheduled for Saturdays. We try to target the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Rehab projects may require 6 to 12 volunteers, working under the supervision of a skilled Team Leader. Repair projects are usually smaller, requiring only 2 or 3 volunteers. Workdays typically start at 8 or 9 am and last for four to five hours. If volunteers are available, workdays may also be scheduled during the week.

No special skills are required and all volunteers, whether individuals or groups, are welcomed. People with some expertise in basic carpentry, home repair or rehab work and an ability and willingness to lead others are especially needed as Team Leaders. Rainbow is also interested in volunteers that may be available for work during the week.
